Cathy Reilly, MSW, LSW

Cathy comes to Corner House with a background in public education where she started as a high school English teacher. After receiving a Master of Arts in Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision from Rider University, she became a supervisor, overseeing English and English as a Second Language (ESL) departments for twenty three years. She recently received her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and joined Corner House as an intern in 2020 and is now a part-time clinician.

Drawing on her vast experience as an English educator, Cathy believes in what Oliver Sacks describes as the power and healing potential of “story.” Sacks wrote that “as narratives, we are each of us unique.” Cathy approaches her therapeutic practice by helping clients take care for their unique stories by reconciling their past, finding agency in their present, and re-conceptualizing their future.
